The Shack Book Summary

“The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity” is one of the best books on spiritual values. Wm. Paul Young is the author of this book. He was born a Canadian and raised among a Stone Age tribe by his missionary parents in the highlands of former New Guinea. He suffered great loss as a child and young adult. In this book, he beautifully describes the Love of God and man. It is about one man’s finding God when he wasn’t looking to find him. At the same time, he gets some of his questions answered and grievances aired. It is a well-crafted, entertaining, and suspenseful story as well. The characters are engaging and endearing. In short, and without giving away too much, a man loses his daughter, goes into depression, his other children suffer, he harbors a deep anger at the God who would allow this and then he goes to a shack for the weekend where his life is changed forever. The book is about God and His accessibility to every person on Earth, all His children. It answers perennial questions that many people have about the Creator, such as why doesn’t He prevent bad things from happening. The book also discusses relationships between people, husbands, and wives, fathers and children, friends and neighbors.
