Annie John by Jamaica Kincaid is a fiction, humor and suspense novel which plots the story of a girl Annie, she is leaving all behind and moving to another place. Jamaica Kincaid is the author of the remarkable novel. Annie is an adorable child and she is popular due to her cuteness. She is living with her family and especially with her mother. Annie is very attached to her mother and she is almost like her mother. She feels strong and powerful in the presence of her mother. The girl likes the company of mother and now she started to go to the school. When she turns to twelve years old, Annie starts questioning the assumptions of cultures and so on. There are some critical and disturbing questions which make her rebels from the people of Antigua. She is not anymore a child and her mother thinks she is a woman now who can make her decisions. Now Annie is in the last year of her school and she wanted to leave her house. She talks to her family and they are not happy with the decision. In the end, Annie manages to explain her feeling to her mother and she is ready to leave her family and the island.
