Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert are above sixty years of age, they are siblings and they did not marry. Both works on their Green farm but now it’s difficult for them to work due to their age. They decided to adopt an orphan boy which help them in the farm and their life will be easier. The people of the town were not happy with their decision and they think Matthew and Marilla are not strong enough to raise a child. But they did not listen to any person and call authorities to send a boy. Marilla is a terrifying woman who is outspoken. When she reached the station she finds a girl instead of a boy. The orphanage sends the eleven-year-old girl by mistake and her name is Anne Shirley. She is a young girl but full of life and not worry about her future. Her talkative spirit and charm seem good to impressed Matthew and he agrees to keep her. Marilla was not sure what to do with the girl who is playing outside but now she is ready to live with her.
