“Tariq bin Ziyad” is one of the best Urdu books ever written on the great Muslim commander Tariq bin Ziyad. The author of the book is H.A L Gregg and Misbah Akram is translated it in to Urdu. It is a complete history and life story of Tariq bin Ziyad. He was a Muslim commander who led the Islamic Umayyad conquest of Visigothic Hispania in 711–718 A.D. He led a large army and crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from the North African coast, consolidating his troops at Rock of Gibraltar under the orders of the Umayyad Caliph Al-Walid I. On the occasion of Gibraltar after burned his ships, he addressed his army “My Dear brothers, we are here to spread the message of Allah. Now, the enemy is in front of you and the sea behind. You fight for his cause. Either you will be victorious or martyred. There is no third choice. All means of escape have been destroyed”.
