At the Dark End of the Street is the history, civil rights and social sciences book which describes the horrific attacks of white men on the black women. Danielle L. McGuire is the author of this astonishing book. The author writes from the beginning from where the Civil Rights Movement start and how the rise of the black power came into being. In this whole movement, there is one woman who is behind all this struggle, her name is Rosa Parks and she is leading from the front. In the year 1944, a twenty-four-year-old mother was coming back home with her friend from Rock Hill Holiness. Her name was Recy Taylor and she was threatened by the seven white men. All of them are armed with shotguns and knives. They raped the woman and left her in dying condition on the Rock Hill Holiness. The death of the black women by the white men is not the new thing but this time the president of NAACP send the best organizer and investigator to deal with the case. Rosa Parks is appointed to investigate the crime and she knows what happened exactly. She started a revolutionary movement which is changed into the Civil Rights Movement for the black people.
